Get Involved, Make an Impact

The Chamber thrives through the active involvement of its members. As the saying goes, “You get out of the Chamber what you put into it.” Our committees are the perfect place to get involved, build connections, and gain insight into how our Chamber operates.

The Los Alamitos Chamber Ambassadors serve as a vital link, welcoming new and existing businesses to the Chamber. They attend ribbon-cuttings, grand openings, networking breakfasts, and mixers, acting as the Chamber’s hospitality team.

Ambassadors engage members by encouraging them to attend Chamber and City events, visiting new businesses, and connecting with current members. They also assist the Chamber office by reaching out to businesses that acquire new licenses in the city.

Serving as an Ambassador offers opportunities for building business relationships, high-visibility networking, and community involvement. Join this committee if you’re passionate about helping local businesses thrive.

The Membership Committee supports the Chamber’s goals for member growth and retention. Working closely with Ambassadors, this committee helps drive member recruitment and renewal efforts, reaching out to members 1-2 months before renewal and following up with event visitors.

The committee collaborates with the Chamber office to manage member contacts, correspondence, and to identify potential new members.

The Social Media Committee ensures that the Chamber’s website and social media channels—including Instagram and Facebook—feature up-to-date content. The committee highlights new members, events, and member achievements, and ensures that photos and videos are captured at all events.

The Networking Events Committee recommends topics and speakers for the monthly breakfast and quarterly lunch-and-learn events. Proposed topics are presented to the board in January to help create an annual events calendar. The committee works with the Chamber office on event promotion and preparation.

The Mixers Committee collaborates with the Chamber office to organize quarterly networking events, which are sponsored by members or local businesses. The committee plans fun activities and secures donations for prizes to enhance the networking experience.

The Special Events Committee is responsible for planning and coordinating the annual Heroes Luncheon and other fundraising events. This committee works closely with the Chamber office to ensure smooth event organization and execution.

The Finance Committee partners with a bookkeeper to prepare a monthly financial statement for the board of directors. They draft an annual budget at the start of the year, which is reviewed at each board meeting. The committee also advises the executive committee on financial and budgeting matters.

RMAC advocates for the Joint Forces Training Base, supporting political action, community engagement, and government awareness to maintain the Base as a vital asset to the region, state, and nation. RMAC meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Joint Forces Training Base.
